Biblical Counseling Academy

Virtual Summit

A Spirit-Led Gathering for Pastors, Pastors' Wives, Leaders, and Called Soul Care Ministers

In every season, the Lord raises up shepherds and servants whom He is calling to care for souls—not with the wisdom of this world, but with the sufficiency of Scripture and the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Biblical Counseling Academy Virtual Summit was birthed out of such calling. What began as a timely gathering has become an ongoing opportunity for those whom the Lord is preparing and positioning for faithful ministry.

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” (Romans 8:14, NKJV)

This summit is hosted periodically throughout the year, and each gathering is prayerfully shaped to meet the needs of the Church in its present moment. By joining the waitlist, you are placing yourself in readiness—available when the Lord opens the door again.

A Message From Our President Jeff Christianson

Like you, and the rest of humanity, I learned how to rely upon my own sufficiency through my earliest experiences in life. It was natural. The humanistic worldview teaches that for humankind to make a way for himself in the world he is called to do what he can do and be what he can be. He is the captain of his own destiny and what he makes of himself will be his lot in life. We are all familiar with the kingdom of man.

The kingdom of heaven resembles very little of the kingdom of men. It’s an entirely different worldview. Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36).We are reminded that His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts; they are higher than the heavens are above the earth (Isaiah 55:8). In God’s kingdom, we are called upon to learn to live by the sufficiency of God rather than the sufficiency of man.

I love what Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 1:12, “For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.”

The apostle Paul conducted himself in godly sincerity; a sincerity that did not come out of fleshly wisdom. Think of his ministry. He ministered throughout the world, traveling and sharing the word of God. The wisdom of man would be insufficient for such a mighty work. According to 2 Corinthians, the whole of Paul’s ministry occurred by the grace of God. Godly living comes only by the grace of God and we who believe are called to live godly lives.

It is my prayer that God would affect our hearts and lives as we explore Counseling Life’s Most Difficult Issues, and that you will discover Christ’s sufficiency for godly living.

Meet Jeff Christianson

I’d love the opportunity to get to know you. If you’re attending one of the teaching events, you’re welcome to contact my ministry office to connect at (828) 707-9034.

I was discipled, trained, and mentored within the Calvary Chapel movement, shaped deeply by the ministry and example of Chuck Smith and Bob Hoekstra. Their commitment to servanthood, the sufficiency of Scripture, and Christ-centered ministry continues to mark my life and teaching.

In many ways, these faithful pastors passed the baton to me—much like Paul did to Timothy:

“And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”
2 Timothy 2:2 (NKJV)

By God’s grace, I now serve as the founder of the Calvary Chapel Fellowship of Biblical Counselors, a ministry built upon the Counseling God’s Way framework developed by Pastor Bob Hoekstra. The Lord has been faithful to allow me to serve and equip hundreds of men and women in Christ-centered, Scripture-sufficient soul care—always for the good of the local church and the glory of God.
