I serve as the senior pastor of a Calvary Chapel, and our church leadership team is spiritually mature and fully capable of overseeing Sunday ministry while I travel. Their generosity and shared vision have made it possible for me to serve the broader body of Christ through this teaching ministry.
Seminars & Ministry Workshops
I count it an honor and a privilege to open God’s Word and serve His people. Every seminar and workshop I offer is both a joy and a responsibility, and one I do not take lightly.
Through Christ-centered seminars and ministry workshops, I seek to strengthen the Church, equip leaders, and ground believers in the sufficiency of Christ and His Word. These teachings are available for local churches, schools of ministry, conferences, retreats, podcasts, and Zoom gatherings. Each session is rooted in Scripture, shaped by decades of pastoral ministry, and aimed at helping God’s people walk faithfully with Jesus in everyday life.
If you would be so kind, please pray with us that the Lord would use His Word to encourage hearts, strengthen families, and bear much fruit for His glory.
“Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.”
2 Corinthians 9:10 (NKJV)
I am grateful to serve and trusting the Lord to do what only He can do.
A Ministry Entrusted and Passed On
Pastor Jeff learned ministry as a staff pastor under the care of Pastor Chuck Smith. Those years were deeply formative, as ministry was “caught,” not just taught, while he served and learned alongside Pastor Chuck.
Jeff was discipled, trained, and mentored by Bob Hoekstra while serving as his assisting pastor. During that season, Bob encouraged Jeff to carry forward these biblical studies, teaching them faithfully and relationally—just as Paul exhorted Timothy.
“The things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” — 2 Timothy 2:2 (NKJV)
These seminars reflect that spiritual lineage: Christ-exalting, grace-centered, Scripture-sufficient, and pastorally applied.
Seminar Themes & Teaching Focus
Jeff teaches a wide range of seminar sessions that can be adapted to your church, conference, retreat, or leadership setting. Sessions may be offered as a single 1-hour workshop, a half-day or full-day seminar, a weekend intensive, or a multi-session training track.
- Counseling God’s Way
Caring for souls through the sufficiency of Christ and Scripture.
This is Jeff’s most requested training and can be taught as a standalone workshop or expanded into a full seminar series. It is designed to help pastors, ministry leaders, and church servants understand how to care for people biblically — with confidence in Christ, the Holy Spirit, prayer, and the Word of God.
- Family God’s Way
Christ at the center of the single years, marriage, parenting, and home life.
- Couples Seminar
Strengthening marriages through God’s original design.
- Growing in the Grace of God
Learning to live daily by grace, not self-effort.
- God’s Sufficiency for Godly Living
Trusting God’s provision rather than human ability.
- Promise Believers
Living in light of God’s unchanging promises.
- The Church: How Jesus Builds It
Understanding Christ’s design for His body and His mission.
-
Contending for the Faith
Standing firm in biblical truth in an age of compromise.
Each seminar may be taught as a full multi-session series or as selected one-hour workshop sessions, depending on the needs of your congregation or event. If you are looking for a single workshop, weekend seminar, or custom training track, Jeff can help shape the content to fit your church’s needs and schedule.
Flexible Teaching Formats
Seminars can be structured in ways that best serve your people, including:
- Weekend seminars
- Saturday intensives
- Sunday AM/PM services
- Mid-week studies
- Leadership retreats
- School of Ministry courses
- Consecutive weekly sessions
- Abbreviated overviews or keynote teachings
- Online or Zoom-based gatherings
The goal is always the same: to build up the saints and exalt Christ (Ephesians 4:11–16).
Local Church Commitment
“So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.” — Romans 12:5 (NKJV)
Ministry Philosophy & Financial Considerations
Guest Pastor & Workshop Information
Thank you for considering an invitation to serve your church, conference, or ministry event.
It is always a joy for me to come alongside pastors, ministry leaders, and local churches to teach God’s Word and strengthen the body of Christ. My heart is to serve in a way that is biblical, pastoral, simple, and helpful.
Ministry First
When I am invited to teach, preach, or lead a workshop, I come primarily as a pastor and ministry servant, not as a commercial vendor or exhibitor. My goal is to minister through the Word, encourage leaders, and help equip God’s people for counseling and discipleship.
Workshops and Resource Tables
For workshops and conference sessions, it can be helpful to have a small resource table available. This is simply a place for attendees to connect afterward, ask questions, receive brochures, and learn more about biblical counseling training opportunities. It is not intended to function as a traditional vendor booth or commercial exhibit.
Travel and Hosting
My desire is to serve freely whenever possible. In many cases, churches and ministries kindly cover travel, lodging, and related ministry expenses as a courtesy. Honorariums are always appreciated but never demanded. Clear communication ahead of time is always a blessing and helps everything go smoothly.
Types of Ministry Invitations
I am available, as the Lord allows, for:
- Sunday preaching
- Biblical counseling workshops
- Ministry leadership training
- Conference breakout sessions
- Men’s events
- Couples and family ministry seminars
- Pastor and leadership encouragement
There is no financial requirement. Each host church or organization is encouraged to handle financial matters prayerfully and freely, allowing the Lord to provide as He sees fit.
These seminars reflect that spiritual lineage: Christ-exalting, grace-centered, Scripture-sufficient, and pastorally applied.
